Supporting a Business Relocation with a Complete Electrical Installation
When Shay, owner of EHC Screen Printing, made the decision to relocate his workshop to larger premises, he saw it as an opportunity to not only increase capacity but also future-proof the business for growth.

As a specialist screen printing company, EHC relies heavily on machinery, extraction systems and reliable power supplies to maintain productivity and deliver high-quality results for its customers. The move provided the perfect opportunity to create an electrical infrastructure specifically designed around the needs of the business.
Cotswold Lighting & Power (CLP) was appointed to deliver a complete electrical installation, ensuring the new workshop would be safe, compliant and ready to support both current operations and future expansion.
The Challenge
The new premises required significant electrical upgrades before Shay could fully utilise the space.
The workshop needed:
New interior lighting throughout the building
Zoned lighting controls allowing different sections of the workshop to operate independently
External lighting for improved security and accessibility
A dedicated 16-amp commando socket for specialist equipment
Installation of a new extraction system supply
A completely new dedicated consumer unit (fuse board)
Electrical infrastructure capable of supporting upgraded machinery
The goal was to create a workspace that was both practical and scalable while ensuring compliance with current electrical regulations.
Our Solution
Working closely with Shay, we designed and installed a tailored electrical solution that met the operational requirements of the business while providing flexibility for future growth.
Interior & Exterior Lighting
New energy-efficient LED lighting was installed throughout the workshop, providing excellent visibility for precision screen printing work.
To maximise efficiency, the lighting was divided into multiple zones, allowing Shay and his team to illuminate only the areas currently in use, helping to reduce energy consumption and operating costs.
Externally, new lighting was installed around access points and loading areas, improving both security and safety during darker winter months.
Dedicated Power Infrastructure
A new dedicated consumer unit was installed to provide a reliable and compliant electrical supply for the workshop.
This dedicated board ensures the electrical installation can safely support the demands of commercial equipment while allowing for future expansion as the business continues to grow.
16-Amp Commando Socket Installation
To accommodate specialist machinery, we installed a dedicated 16-amp commando socket, providing a robust industrial-grade power connection suitable for workshop environments.
Extraction System Supply
A dedicated supply was installed for the workshop's extraction system, ensuring safe and efficient operation while supporting a clean and productive working environment.
The Result
The completed installation has transformed the new premises into a modern, efficient and future-ready production facility.
By investing in the right electrical infrastructure from the outset, Shay now has complete confidence that the workshop can support upgraded machinery and future equipment investments without concerns about power capacity or reliability.
The new lighting has improved working conditions throughout the space, while the dedicated power systems provide the performance and resilience required for a busy commercial operation.
Client Feedback
"Moving premises was a huge step for the business, and I wanted to make sure everything was done properly from day one. The team at Cotswold Lighting & Power took the time to understand exactly how the workshop operates and delivered an installation that works perfectly for us. We now have a modern, reliable electrical system that supports our current machinery and gives us room to grow. Their advice, workmanship and communication throughout the project were excellent."
